DAWN TO DUSK EXISTS, more than for any other purpose, to do what it can to contribute to peoples' grasp of God's greatness. Those who love God should be passionate about seeing His glory. With Moses, their prayer should be, "Please, show me Your glory" (Ex. 33:18).
God is so great we will never, in this lifetime, attain to any but the most basic understanding of that greatness. However, we do have four windows into God's Mind, each of which provides insights that neither of the others is able to give:
The creation: Two passages state this truth with incredible clarity — Psalm 19:1 and Romans 1:20. Nothing gives us a better insight into God's greatness and majesty, or strengthens our faith more in His power to raise us from the dead, than the works of His hands as seen in creation;
The life, work and teachings of Jesus Christ: Because He had the mind of God in full (Col. 2:9), His every word and deed provides insights into what God is like. All the propositional statements in the world about the love of God cannot compare with the simple fact of Jesus' willing submission to torture and crucifixion in our stead. 1 Peter 1:21 tells us that we believe in God "through Him". We can know what God is like by looking at Jesus;
Scripture's propositional statements: The Bible gives us numerous descriptions of God, such as the staggering insight provided by Psalm 12:6 that God's thoughts never contradict one another;
God's acts within history, as testified to in the Bible, also provide us with amazing windows into His mind and power.
No matter how feeble our attempts may be, all the material presented under the "Seeing God" umbrella is dedicated to probing the depths of God's infinite glory.
