Should a temple be built in Jerusalem?

The bible clearly states that there will be a third temple rebuilt, and that animal sacrifices will resume in the rebuilt Jewish Temple. I have studied bible prophesy for several years and I see where Ezekiel, Zechariah, Jesus in Matthew, Daniel, and numerous passages in Revelation address the temple being rebuilt. I love to discuss this issue, and if you have any information on this subject I would love to hear from you.

Nope - there is already a temple in heaven to which through the Great High Priest and Friend of mine, Jesus Christ, I have direct and immediate entrance to the presence of God - why would I want one in Jerusalem?

It's totally in Israel's hands now. First they reclaim Israel back after world war two. In time they will reclaim whats theirs, the question is not should but when. And if so the mosque would have to be flattened. Earthquake maybe. That'll be a sure sign from god. Trouble is how long can they wait?

… I believe that the Temple must be build and it will, this is what the Bibles says, plus, God has never rejected his people, He has never replace the jewish by the church (gentiles), they are still his people and time will come when they will be restored.

… it matters not to me at this time whether the temple is built anew or the ones now standing simply have a peel and stick label put over the present name. This I consider to be a "TWIG" subject in the scheme of things, and if we return to the important things, of simply taking care of our very own problems that glare back at us while we look in the mirror in the morning then we should have our hands quite full of trying to overcome our own sinful nature and will have little time to judge others on ANY account about anything. I will leave you with that, and do hope that you will be able to recognize the error of your wandering ways from the straight and narrow.

Yes, I agree Jews should have their own temple in Jerusalem. I am a devoted Catholic, but I admire the Jewish faith which forms the roots of Christianity.

… I think you might be right about the temple but I have always thought that maybe we were the Temple that God wants to dwell in?… Temple or no Temple? At some point there is to be a physical Temple in Jerusalem but I'm not sure when. Should a Temple be built? I think yes. Does it have to be built before Christ can return? Maybe not, as that is one of the things that people are looking for and marking time by. They may be caught looking for something that doesn't come until later. Food for thought though!

Yes, I believe too, that the Temple should be built again. Although, I am a Catholic and believe that Jesus has founded His Church on the Apostles, and that the Popes today are in Apostolic Succession, and we believe that, as the early Church, that Jesus, by His "New Covenant," has instituted the Sacrament of the Eucharist, which is HIS true Body and Blood. Jesus dwells, not just spiritually, but physically, Body, Blood, Sould and Divinity in the Holy Sacrament that is preserved in all the Tabernacles of Catholic Churches, from St. Peter's in Rome to all the Catholic Churches in the world. Jesus promised to be with us till the end of time, and He HAS promised this; it is in Holy Scripture! But, for the Jews, I do believe that the Temple should be built again. It is only right, and to honor God The Father! We as Christians, DO come from Jewish roots and should never forget that! It would be wonderful to see the Temple built and standing in Jerusalem again!

Yes, I do believe the Temple will be rebuilt, but as it says all through the scriptures, in God's way, and in God's time. I believe we are 2 strokes til midnight on God's clock, and I am really glad that so many people around the world are doing what you're doing, and telling others about Jesus.

I do believe that a temple should be built in Jerusalem Israel, too bad more Israelis don't think so. I think it is time they get started.

The article was excellent!!  As a messianic Jewish believer, I'm in total agreement with building the temple of the L-rd!!!  Hasten the day!  Amen.

I've had a good look at your site and found it most interesting. I'm a bit confused about the whole Temple thing though.  I've always been told that the Temple would be rebuilt by Jews who had not yet accepted Jesus as Messiah and that it would be desecrated almost as soon as it was built. I've been on one or two blogs where some people have said that the sacrifices will again be required of born again believers when the Temple is rebuilt. To me this just doesn't jibe with the concept of Jesus' once and for all perfect human sacrifice for our sins. I can't see what the point of His death on the cross could have been if we'll be required to make animal sacrifices again. I don't, however, believe that Jesus' death negated our obligation to observe the Torah food laws because God gave us these for our protection and sanctification not our salvation.
